Is it ok to spary Fruit trees with liquid hand soap?

My apricot tree leaves have holes in them. Looks like something is eating it. Is soap safe to use. I am thinking of fixing liquid hand soap with water and spraying it on the leaves. Is it ok to spary Fruit trees with liquid hand soap?
Soap is safe to use on plants, but lots of ';special'; detergents like hand soap have all kinds of different ingredients like perfume and anti-bacterial stuff that might not be safe for plants.

Use plain soap, which is effective against greenfly/whitefly/blackfly, but don't do it while the tree is blossoming or it will affect pollination.

Also be aware that it can make the leaves prone to sunburn, so if it's at all sunny right now where you are then either shade the tree until all the soap has washed off in lots of rain, or use something else that doesn't burn.

Soaking tobacco in water overnight and then straining the bits out gives a good anti-insect spray - you can just collect used cigarette butts to use for this and it doesn't cause sunburn. Keep it away from cucumber/pumpkins/courgettes etc and also tomato plants though as it can carry plant diseases which affect these plants.

Another good one is to boil garlic and then use the water, as the smell confuses many types of insect.
