Any differences between soap bars and hand soaps?

Besides the fact that hand soaps are liquid and come in containers?Any differences between soap bars and hand soaps?
for true soaps (not necessarily the commercial products which are often detergent products anyway) the difference is the type of caustic used to saponify the oils.

bar soaps are made with sodium hydroxide - and thus the soap is actually the sodium salts of the fatty acids (example: sodium cocoate)

liquid soaps are made with potassium hydroxide - and thus the soap is actually the potassium salts of the fatty acids (example: potassium cocoate)Any differences between soap bars and hand soaps?
Liquid hand soaps are often antibacterial so if you're looking for that, it might be your best bet. But antibacterial soaps are actually not that important--washing your hands well with non-antibacterial bar soap works just as well to kill germs. Bar soap lasts longer and is usually cheaper, and looks nice on the bathroom sink. Check out my source for info from the Mayo Clinic about antibacterial vs. non-antibacterial soaps.
I think the best thing about them is, that if you get someone who does not rinse the sink after washing their hands, with these liquid soaps they don't leave any scum around the sink like soap bars do ,and the sink seems easier to clean, that's why we use them.
no, sometimes liquid soaps don't leave your hands as dry, but that depends on which soap you get.
