Is antibacterial hand soap ok to use on a new tattoo?

Im useing that cause Im allergic to the kind my arist said to use it makes me break out so Im useing antibacterial had soap on my tattooIs antibacterial hand soap ok to use on a new tattoo?

yes it's okay, as long as it doesn't irritate your skin. but if it gets all puffy and gross and weird after that, go to a doc! that probably won't happen though..





generally you don't particularly need any special soap for a tattoo. but if you're allergic then always do a skin test first.

You shouldn't use soap to clean tattoos as the fragrances can irritate your tattoo. Plain water works just fine. Just turn the water on slowly and let it run over your tattoo and gently rub it with your hand and pat dry. Then make sure to put Neosporin or another triple antibiotic on it until it heals. It not only keeps your skin clean, but when the skin dries as it's healing, it keeps your tattoo from cracking and itching you.
