You need to scoop out as much as you can, and then run the cycle with 2 cups of white vinegar. The vinegar will cut the suds.Got hand wash soap in dishwasher and cant get it to stop oversuddung and ruining my floor help?
Vinegar is a water softener, and will increase sudsing, not decrease it. Note that the best answer didn't really work. Report Abuse

I have a few strange ideas that will help. They're based on the fact that silicone is an anti-foaming substance:

Do you have any of that hair serum that smooths and shines your hair? The main ingredient in that is silicone, which is a potent anti-foaming chemical. If you just put a squirt or 2 in your d/w, the foaming would stop. I bet even a squirt or 2 of hair gel would do the same (it probably has silicone it it too, for shine).

Another idea would be if you have some anti-gas medication, like Gas-X or something similar tummy medicine with the active ingredient ';simethicone.'; This is another silicone-based chemical that stops foaming (in your intestines). Put in a dose or 2. If it's capsules, be sure to pop them open and squeeze the contents into the d/w.

If you have ever had a hot tub, the anti-foaming chemical you have to put in it occasionally is a silicone-based substance. So you could use that.

Finally, if you have none of these things, I'd go with a half-cap of fabric softener, or about 1/2 cup of oil. The oil will grease up your d/w, but it will stop the foaming. You will have to run it again to get the oil out (just run a regular load of dishes with d/w detergent).
vinegar will kill the suds.
a sprinkle of salt should do it
