Is it bad to wash your face with hand soap?

If you have acne i heard it's good to wash it with antibacterial soap, but some people say its bad.


So im not sure if its good or bad?Is it bad to wash your face with hand soap?

I would think that hand soap is harsher as it's meant for the skin there and that can get dried out and cracked if used too often even as well. The face washes with salyclic acid in them seem best as they help to sluff off dead skin cells and dirt, oil, etc. They don't seem too strong but effective to clear skin up in problem areas as needed. There are alot of these.





Just avoid any with oils in them and only wash as directed on the container as doing so with any product too much can be harmful to strip the skin of natural protectants it has otherwise.

Yes, it will clog your pores and make your face dry and irritated.
Yes it will dry out! I like Cetaphil! works great and it not to expensive. U can get it at any drug store

apply moisturise after washing with soap,this will help ur skin to remain smooth...but it is better to use face wash...

yes, it dries out your face and makes it go tight and nasty
i use tone and it acually made my skin clear! but i also put mostureizer on after i wash my face day and night so it wont dry out.

I never use regular hand soap on my face, I use a product made for the face, it is gentalier.
lol i have heardnothing good about using soap on the face but loads and loads of women i know have only ever used soap on their face and they have perfect skin.
i reconmend maybe trying a three step program from the likes of Clinique or Nivia or something like that ... as it is actually for washing and cleaning your face.


From my experience i have never washed my face with hand soap i use cleaners and toners and my skin is clear.





If your acne is really bad though have you gone to the doctors to maybe see about getting pills thats what my sister has and her skin clears up :)

Used the hand soap with PH 5.5..such us johnson %26amp; johnson baby soap. It's proven friendly with your face. Good or bad is depend what type of your skin.. so take the balance PH soap.

yes its bad to wash your face with hand soap because it will clogg your pores and make your condition worse, get Oxy On the Spot that's a good make and you can get cream and facewash thats got this benzilperoxide stuff in it that clears the infection aswell. Good Luck x
It depends on the type of soap you use. Soaps with the same sort of p.H as your skin (such as dove or clinique) will be good cleansers and won't dry/clog your pores. I know that clinique actually have an antibacterial facial soap specifically designed to combat spots and blemishes. I actually use the liquid soap from the same range and it reduces my redness/outbreaks significantly without drying.





If that doesn't work for you I would suggest experimenting with different products as everyone's skin is different. Hope that helps =)





**I've just realised you put hand soap - definitely DON'T use that!! I thought you put ';hard';!!
oh dont use it dear. i used it n then my skin became more dull n broke out more. it makes ur skin kind of wrinkled. use any simple face wash or best if any herbal 1. Dont wash more than two times, rest u should just splash water after 3 4 hours. Gud luck beautifull
