Is it ok to use hand soap for dishes?

maybe this is a stupid one, but i noticed a friend of mine uses softsoap for her dishes--is there really a significant difference between using dish soap and hand soap for dishes? Is it ok to use hand soap for dishes?
dish soap is antibacterial, that's why we use it.

it should also be fairly non-toxic in case you don't rinse well enough.

if your the hand soap pass the non-toxic test?

Then go with cheapIs it ok to use hand soap for dishes?
No, not in my experience. Soap is soap. The only problem is some hand soaps are scented, which, if you fail to rinse properly, can make food taste bad if you use that plate.
No, I don't think so. Isn't Softsoap rather expensive to be washing your dishes with? I can only imagine that it wouldn't clean like dish soap. My former co-worker used body scrub to wash her dishes one time. Odd!
no thats not a good idea
