How does a hand soap pump work?

God makes it workHow does a hand soap pump work?
When the tube is pressed inside, a spring is now compressed.

This makes the tube come out automatically on releasing the pressure.

There is a valve mechanism on the top of the tube which allows fluids to come from inside to out side and not the other way.

While we press the tube inside, the air in the tube goes out and cannot re enter the tube ( even after the tube has returned to its normal position).

The pressure inside the tube is decreased and to compensate the fall in pressure, the air above the liquid soap presses the liquid through the tube outside. How does a hand soap pump work?
TRY PUSHING THE TOP

It comes out the little spout provided thus causing your soap to despece :S
there is a one way (slapper valve) and two cylinders one fitting over the other... when you push on it... the fluid has to go somewhere... because the valve closes... so it comes out the spout.
howstuffworks.com very good website, get smarts!
Pushing down creates pressure in the bottle. The only other way out for the soap is up the tube.

Best hand soap for Mechanic?

Hey, any of you know a good hand soap with serious grit cleaner in it to clean mechanics hands? and get all of the black and gross stuff off?

Thanks,Best hand soap for Mechanic?
GOJO in the pump form. Stuff is awesome! Used it for years.

I use dawn dish soap and a small spoon full of sugar. Nothing cuts grease like dawn and the sugar gives you grit. It works just as well but cheaper.
Lava or Goop. Both are good products.

  • Does regular hand soap damage clothes?

i'm trying to work out more often, but I only have two pairs of pants, so I plan to soak each pair in soap water and hang one to dry each night so I can rotate clean workout pants. Even if the hand soap DOES damage the pants, it won't damage it *too* much, right?Does regular hand soap damage clothes?
As long as you rinse the soap out and don't use a moisturizing formulation, it won't damage the garment. If you don't rinse the soap out, it will build up over time in the fibers and it will act like a magnet attracting dirt and sweat which will make stains.Does regular hand soap damage clothes?
Make sure your pants are rinsed thoroughly otherwise your pants will damage overtime...%26amp; just a reminder, regular hand soap doesn't really preserve the color in clothing...
A small amount of wash up liquid would probaby work just as well and wouldn't stain. I use it for handwashing and have never had a problem.
might leave a tiny grease stain

Why have they gone to foam hand soap instead of liquid soap in (almost) all public restrooms?

Because of the expansion of the foam. If you get soap in a liquid form, its a solid glob of soap, half of which you will probably wash down the drain, and most people usually use 2-3 pumps of soap.

The foam soap comes initially in a liquid form, but when you pump the dispenser, it injects air into the soap, and you get a foamy glob. In this respect, you use less soap(since you're getting a mixture of air and soap), and you dont wash half the soap away getting a lather.

So essentially, it works out to be cheaper, and works just as well. Why have they gone to foam hand soap instead of liquid soap in (almost) all public restrooms?
The Almighty Dollar has spoken - it's cheaper. Why have they gone to foam hand soap instead of liquid soap in (almost) all public restrooms?
Its more economical. I mean, think about it.... people leave blobs of the stuff ALL over the place, but if its foamy, its not only easier to clean up, but less is being wasted.
Foam costs less than concentrated powders. It's all about making money!
    less waste, more economical
I think to many people peed in the liquid soap so they switched it to foam so that you would be able to tell if it was tampered with ahahah
The purpose of the liquid soap is to spend the time to lather it so that it is effective. Most people don't spend the time to do that. They put soap on their hands, rub their hands together for a few seconds, and rinse. (According to my preschooler, who is the ultimate expert on hand-washing in our house thanks to a very clean teacher, you should scrub your hands long enough to sing the alphabet song). By already being in the form of a lather, the soap is effective immediately.

Also, it is SO much cheaper to use the foam soap than it is to use the liquid soap, because it just requires a lot less of the soap to be just as or more effective. We use it in our home, and now there's even dish soap that comes in the form of foam rather than liquid (Dawn is the brand we use). I bought a bottle of the foam soap for each of the bathrooms in our house. In the one my three-year-old uses, of course, it lasted around two weeks, since he was pretty impressed by the BUBBLES, but the one in our bathroom has lasted for months, where I usually had to buy more every two or three weeks.

Is it ok to clean a new fish tank with a mild detergent i,e hand soap?

my fish tank is filled with bleach, i find that my underwater bunnies do not live long.Is it ok to clean a new fish tank with a mild detergent i,e hand soap?
Its really not good to do that. Get some Cleaner from the fish store.A tank scrubber is great i get my products from pet-smart.com they have free shipping for somethingsIs it ok to clean a new fish tank with a mild detergent i,e hand soap?
One of the best things that you can use to clean a fish tank is non-iodized table salt. It acts as a good scrubber, and can be easily rinsed out. Just be sure you *DO* rinse the tank well, particularly if you are keeping freshwater fish.
if there are no fish it is ok just use very little and make sure you rinse VERY good
    no-- just hot water
    No.

Use a little baking soda or salt and give it a rinse if it really full of gunk....if it's brand new, all you need is a little water and a paper towel....
no it's madness to do that if even little of soap remains behind the fishes may die use salt to clean your fish tnk that will be better
i wouldnt do it...i just use hot water
It's fine to use, but you have to be sure it's absolutely clean of any residue before setting the tank up.
never use soap of any kind.
Generally not I'd just rinse it throughly. The fill. Wait 3 hours. Dump water, and rinse. It you use soap be sure rinse, then fill, dump, and rinse. Soap, and bleach is generally left for cases where all the fish in the tank died. Both are very toxic.
Well you can tell you obviously hit a touchy subject eh?

First, an aquarium is glass. Ever use soap or windex to clean glass? Of course. So that being said you can use anything you feel like to clean the glass.

All of the warnings come from inferior rinsing - that's it.

If you'd rather not take the risks of that there are many good things you can use.

One of the best is unscented chlorine bleach (e.g. clorox etc). After rinsing its pretty easy to make sure there's no trace of chlorine left by adding a little extra dechlorinator to the water.

The top of the list would be using KMnO4 (Potassium Permanganate) which is purple and stains like an SOB but there is nothing that will disinfect better especially if you've had any diseases in the tank.

If you need some scrubbing action, use salt and baking soda on a new sponge or even a scrubby [NOTE: do not try this on an acrylic tank or you will scuff it up to the point of no return]

Again, you could really wash the tank with anything you want provided you rinse excruciatingly well.
Use hot water and a piece of paper towell. Never use any soap, detergent or glass cleaner on the inside of the tank. Ever! You'll kill them.
NO, never use soap in an aquarium

just rinse it out if it is new, if it is used you can scrub it with salt
    NO. NEVER do that!

No matter how much you rinse it, there might be some tiny traces of chemcials left and fishes are VERY VERY sensitive to these chemicals. They can die easily!

Buy some tank cleaners in pet store or use hot water.
NO. Some soap is very persistant and is not worth the extra work. Just rinse it out with water. If you feel you must, scrub it gently with salt water, and then rinse it out.

My wife's hands swell up and we think it is caused by hand soap, what kind of soap should she be using?

i'm assuming that you have recently changed brands, so just go back to what you were using before. If This developed from the same soap that you have been using for a long time, then just get new soaps that are hypoallergenic. these are less likely to cause problems. everybody is different and you may have to shop around to find one that works for you. Stay away from ones that are scented of dyed.

What are the procedures in making liquid hand soap?

I am guessing that ordinary soap like : NaOOC-(CH2)16-CH3 is diluted in some organic solvent. What are the procedures in making liquid hand soap?
    Liquid Hand Soap

    1-1/4 Cups SUPER Concentrate

    32 oz distilled water

    1/2 Teaspoon Soap Crafters Fragrance

    8 drops of Liquid Colorant

Up to 1 ounce of Humectant (Optional)

Use distilled (purified is not distilled) water for best clarity in the end product; tap water will add a cloudiness. Use a stick blender to mix in the Super Concentrate, colorant and fragrance. (A stick blender must be used to mix because hand stirring will not mix it in properly.) Mix for about 1 minute. Allow mixture to sit overnight before bottling to give the air time to escape and the mixture will return clear. If you use non-distilled water, it will be cloudy. If you add oils to the mixture then it will be opaque.

Can I use Boraxo powder hand soap as a facial cleanser?

No it is far too harsh for your skin. Can I use Boraxo powder hand soap as a facial cleanser?
I wouldn't use a powder hand soap as a facial cleanser. The ingredients in the hand soap was not formulated for the face which can cause irritation or worse breakouts. Your better off trying a facial cleanser, their are really high quality one found in the drugstore.

  • My boyfriend works in a beauty supply store, and he said his boss says you can wash you hair with hand soap?

And that it will come out just as clean as if you were using shampooMy boyfriend works in a beauty supply store, and he said his boss says you can wash you hair with hand soap?
probablyMy boyfriend works in a beauty supply store, and he said his boss says you can wash you hair with hand soap?
I wouldn't advise it. Yes your hair will be clean, shine, even, but it will look greasy, and feel dirty. Soap is not the same as shampoo. Soft soap has the same additives as regular soap, with additives with shampoo, and its more expensive that either. So, you hair wont be as greasy feeling and looking, as if you used regular soap, and not as clean feeling, and looking, as if you used shampoo. Stick with Shampoo, and for the ';wet look';, use hair gel.
my hairdresser does the same thing with dish soap. I think eww. but hey, whatevers cleaver
it may be clean, but dry!! handsoap is not healthy for your hair at all.
It will be clean, but it will also be dry so you would definately want to use a conditioner.

You could probably also use detergent but really, neither are good ideas.
Why don't you break up with him and go out with me...........I'm free Saturday night!
That is true. When i'm having a bad hair week and I use gel I wash my hair with Palmolive (dish washing liquid) and it works great.
That is correct: Soap is a detergent, Shampoo is a liquid Detergent. Detergents do not clean, Water cleans.

Detergents merely serve to eliminate the surface tension of the water. That allows the water to clean things. Otherwise the water can not touch anything, because of that Surface tension. If you would like to demonstrate the surface tension of water.

Fill a glass with water and carefully drop a needle on top of the water, make sure the needle is parallel to the surface of the water so it will not pierce the surface tension and the needle will float on top of the water. Cool Huh!
but you need a good conditioner because hand soap is not gentle on your hair.
that is a good idea if your hair is really oily. but soap strips all of the naural oils out of your hair leaving it dry and nasty feeling
I knew a girl in high school who always insisted on using Tide detergent to wash her hair. It looked shiny and good. So, you never know. You could try it, just for a day, if you had another product you are already happy with. Then compare the two.
UNTRUE. I tried this once when I was out of shampoo.

What a holy mess. Your hair feels gummy, flat, brittle and refuses to take any style. Ugh.
I have washed my hair with soap lots of times. I usually use a conditioner afterward though, because it will be really dry for a while.
He is right about that. Many Europeans still use hand soap to wash their hair.
It would be good and clean but extremly dry! I woul djust use regular shampoo and conditioner.
Technically you can and it would clean it just fine. But it would probably overly wash it. The soap would have nothing added for moisture and would dry out your hair if used regularly.
Your boyfriends boss is an idiot!

It may be fine for boys who have really short hair that never tangles and is cut so often you wouldn't know if it was split, but if your hair is more than half an inch long this is a really bad idea.

There are however, hair soaps. These are tricky, because they actually don't contain any soap. It's just because they are a solid shampoo and look like a bar of soap that they get that name.

Does hand sanitizer work as well as soap/water to get rid of salmonella?

The alcohol will denature the protein of the organism and kill it, including viruses that have an outer protein coat. It just doesn't clean off dirt and filth like handwashing with soap and water.Does hand sanitizer work as well as soap/water to get rid of salmonella?
    No.

It does not.Hand washing is the BEST way to get rid of bacteria/viruses.
does it better. but make sure to use the kind with aloe, otherwise your hands will dry out due to the alcohol.

How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?

Add Two Tablespoons of White Vinegar to your Dishwashing Liquid, this will not only give you a cleaner, shinier wash but will also help your dishwashing liquid to last longer and also you use less and it will disinfect and kill germs on your sponges and dishes, when washing dishes just give one firm squirt of dishwashing liquid in your dish water thats it then wash your dishes as normal or you can just squirt some on your sponge and sponge on the dishwashing liquid onto your dishes and hand wash them that way instead of filling the sink with water, don't try to attempt to do a sink load of dishes this way you will use up too much dishwashing liquid this is useful if you only have few dishes to do, vinegar also removes residues, it is a all purpose cleaner/degreaser Good Luck !How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?

How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?
First of all, don't use too much dish soap in the dishwater. You are using proper dish soap, right? Some people on here use all kinds of strange things. Then rinse your dishes in the hottest water your hands can stand, just like you wash them in the hottest water possible. This helps sanitize them and they dry faster. If you want to put a drop of bleach in the dishwater or a couple drops of vinegar in the dishwater, that's fine. I wouldn't rinse with anything but pure water, though. I always rinse my dishes twice in the water, just to make sure. Good luck!
I rinse in a seprate sink that has a cool water and bleach solution in it... it cuts any soap sudzzzz!!!!
Rinse Rinse Rinse. If you use a separate bucket for rinse water, keep it clean.

well you see ive alwayz use the same soap but i just wanted to see if there were any better ones you might recommend to meWhat kind of soap do you recomend to hand wash delicates??
wooliteWhat kind of soap do you recomend to hand wash delicates??
Original Ivory Soap Bar is safe to use for hand laundering delicate items. If you live in an area with hard water, we recommend you use Ivory Snow for your hand laundry and gentle cycle clothes. It's great for your washable wools, silks, and cottons.
Woolite in my opinion is the best.
I started using Ivory Snow detergent with my kids and it works great on delicates as well. Not to mention it's cheaper in comparison to Woolite and other pecialty detergents.
    woolite or Dreft
    DOVE
Ivory is good but if you are going to wash wool or satin, I would recommend baby shampoo or woolite.
    Try Johnson. It's really good.
A product called ';Forever New'; fabric care wash. It was recommended by a local bra shop and I have found it to be far superior to Woolite and baby shampoo (which I used faithfully before I found this!)

Best hand soap for a mechanic/ landscaper?

    Thanks,Best hand soap for a mechanic/ landscaper?
It depends on if you're allergic to anything, then you would need to find a non allergenic soap.

Gojo Citrus with the pumice in it always works when I work on cars. I always have it in my car. It also worked on an injured mechanic who the paramedics needed to clean his hands so the could access his wounds.

    Or Goop works as well.

Hope that helpsBest hand soap for a mechanic/ landscaper?
Thank you for the best answer!!! Report Abuse

Can't go wrong with Gojo. The pumice will remove just about anything. A good ';barrier cream'; applied before you start is a good idea too. My wife brings me some from her work. I don't know what it's called though. She syphons it out of a bulk container for me.

I also use hand creams a lot. Keeps grit from getting into the cracks in your skin when it dries out.

But the best thing is gloves; and not the cheap ones. I recently started wearing Mechanix gloves and they are great. They prevent grime from building up - my hands are no longer scraped and cut - and I just throw them in the washing machine. I use them for riding the bike and gardening too. My wife even got a pair.
Actually Dawn dishwashing liquid is best for cutting the grease.
    Go-jo.

is it true dish washer soap makes your hand cleaner than regular hand soap. that what i heardIs it true dish washer soap makes your hand cleaner than regular hand soap?
No. It's just that your hands are in dish-water longer than when you wash your hands.

What is the difference between the transparent soap that you use to hand-wash dishes and the thicker soap that

is used in a dishwasher? What is the difference between the transparent soap that you use to hand-wash dishes and the thicker soap that
Well, I am not a chemist and I dont work for Proctor - Gamble. But here is the important thing to know! Handwash Dish soap produces many more bubbles. If you use it in the dishwasher you will overflow the machine and end up mopping bubbles and water for a half hour! If you use dishwasher detergent to wash stuff by hand, you better use alot and dont expect to generate that typical bubbly sinkful of dishwater. What is the difference between the transparent soap that you use to hand-wash dishes and the thicker soap that
The dishwasher detergent is designed to be non-foaming. That's why if you put it into the sink, it makes your water soapy but not foamy. However, liquid dishwashing soap for handwashing, will foam to activate and ';coat'; dishes. When used in a dishwasher, the high pressure of the jets causes too much foaming, and can lead to you having to use a week's worth of towel to mop your floor.

When mixed with liquid hand soap, will distilled water create more suds than if you used tap water?

its for a science thing. any input will help. Thanks guysWhen mixed with liquid hand soap, will distilled water create more suds than if you used tap water?
Distilled water has no metal ions. Metal ions reduce the sudsing of soap. Tap water will have the ions present in varying amounts, depending on your location and whether it is well water or treated water. When mixed with liquid hand soap, will distilled water create more suds than if you used tap water?
Yes, untreated tap water is usually ';hard water'; meaning that it has dissolved ions that interfere with the action of soaps and detergents.
The difference is going to be very minimal. The ';contaminants'; in tap water will have about as much affect as a bb gun on a speeding train, which is to say that it exists, but so small that I doubt you would notice unless you were looking for it.

I guess as a side note I'm assuming your tap water is completely horrible. The answer to the question depends on how well your local water treatment plant does it's job.

I have 2..My brotha in law owns a tatoo shop...When u first get one done u suppoused to cover it up for only an hour after they do it...After dat u suppoused to wash it up wit warm water and soap....He never told me if da soap couldnt have odor or not...I always used reagular soap on mines %26amp; they good...Da only thing u cant use and he always told me diz was Aloe Vera lotion...It kills da cuatilly of da way a tatto looks....But I think ur tatto will b just fine....
If your tattoo is 5 weeks old I think you'd be safe to use anything. You just have to be careful during the healing stage. Keep up with the lotion though as it might still be alittle dry and flaky. It looks better too when tatoos are moisturized.
After 2 or 3 weeks, it shouldn't matter what you use. Once the tat is healed, it is just a part of your skin and you can treat it normally (but keep it out of the sun). I use regular soap and stuff with no problems.
I have one that's a month on my ankle and I use shaving cream and scented body gel on it and it's been fine. So yours should be too.

    Gentle antibacterial hand soap?

Are there any liquid antibacterial hand soaps that are actually gentle on skin? I know there are tons of non-antibacterial soaps that fit the bill, but I don't know about the antibacterial variety.Gentle antibacterial hand soap?
Try the ones with shea butter. They're a little better than the others.

Does antibacterial hand soap take bacteria off of eyeglasses?

Yes. Just be careful that it does not also take off the scratch resistent coating or etch the surface.

Almost any soap is antibacterial. If it weren't I wouldn't call it soap. Glass cleaner is antibacterial and will make the glasses clean looking.Does antibacterial hand soap take bacteria off of eyeglasses?
antibacterial soap is not needed for most applications. Any soap and water will be fine to clean off oil and bacteria. Just make sure you scrub a little and rinse. As for glasses, simply wiping down the glass with some cleaner, soap or a little alcohol would be fine. Make sure it is dry before using so you dont get cleaner in your eye.

Hand soap dispenser pump not working!?

I just refilled my decorative soap dispenser and it all of a sudden stopped pumping! It was working fine beforehand, and while I was cleaning out the old soap before putting in the new soap, it was pumping up the water just fine. But now it's not pumping anything at all. I've pumped it over and over again, taken it apart, cleaned the tube and cleaned out the 'head' of the dispenser. I've tried turning it to see if there is a lock... nothing works. Any suggestions?Hand soap dispenser pump not working!?
I'll be honest, I don't use the decorative ones anymore. They don't tend to have a good pump to them and they don't hold that much soap. After a while, I just went back to store bought ones and now I just refill those. Now that I think about it, I think I've had the same store bought dispenser in both bathrooms for about 2 years now lol.Hand soap dispenser pump not working!?
Buy a new top if that one won't work.

Does dish soap still clean my hands as good as hand soap?

when i run out of hand soap i sometimes substitute it with dish soap.

not a big i was just curiousDoes dish soap still clean my hands as good as hand soap?
Yes it is a good substitute to destroy germs. But dish soap has harsher chemicals that attack grease, so it might start to dry out your hands. You might have to invest in some hand moisturizer.

Does regular hand soap kill germs?

i heard that hand soap just simply washes off the germs but doesn't kill them.. or something like that.

only stuff like hand sanitizer actually kills the germs

is that true?Does regular hand soap kill germs?
Hand soap %26amp; warm water will get rid of most of the germs on your hands. Make sure you lather your hands well, %26amp; wash your hands for at least a minute, then rinse carefully.Does regular hand soap kill germs?
The main purpose of washing your hands is to remove the germs rather than killing them so washing with plain soap and water gets this done.

Does anybody have an easy-to-make soap recipe using the hand-mill process?

Also, what do you use for coloring the soap, giving it scent and molding it without incurring into big expenses? I have found excellent websites for sopa makers; however, none of their products seem to be affordable. Anybody have ideas on how to make soap in an inexpensive way while keepint it at a good taste level?Does anybody have an easy-to-make soap recipe using the hand-mill process?
To make hand milled soap, you have to make pretty softer soap than as usual in order to mill it easily.

You can choose your favourite CP soap recipe; however, you need extra water for making softer soap.

Just prepare 10-25% of extra water for lye solution. That's it!

If you use 100% olive oil, you may not need extra water, but just in case,

add 5-10% extra water into lye solution.

Please make lye soap as usual, and cure the soap for several days

and then mill the soap like the following photo using cheese grader or so.

If your soap is too soft to mill, then you can leave it some more days.

After you milled the soap, you simply knead like cookie dough,

and add some scents and color in order to make wonderful flowers or animals.

If you want to make herb soap, simply put your favourite harbs into your soap,

if you want to make clay soap, add your favourite clays!Does anybody have an easy-to-make soap recipe using the hand-mill process?

    Basic Soapmaking Instructions

While wearing safety goggles and neoprene gloves, combine solid lye and liquid, stir well. Set aside and allow to cool (100° F to 125° F). This is best done outside while you are standing upwind.

Combine oils and heat gently. Once the fats and oils are melted allow the temperature to drop to 100° F to 125° F.

Combine lye solution and melted oils. Be careful not to splash while combining the mixtures. Stir until the mixture traces. If tracing takes more than 15 minutes, which it often does, stir for the first 15 minutes, then stir for 5 minutes at 15 minute intervals. Tracing looks like a slightly thickened custard, not instant pudding but a cooked custard. It will support a drop, or your stir marks for several seconds. Once tracing occurs...

Pour raw soap into your prepared molds. After a few days the soap can be turned out of the mold. If the soap is very soft, allow it to cure for a few days to firm the outside.

Cut soap into bars and set the bars out to cure and dry. This will allow the bar to firm and finish saponification. Place the bars on something that will allow them to breathe.

    Hand soap for auto technicians?

My boyfriend just started working for honda as a tech and his hands are GROSSSS! His hands have always been extremely dry and rough to begin with so it seems to actually absorb the oil and grease from the cars. Soap doesnt work, the soap they have at work does not work, I've even forced him to get manicures with me and those did not work.

What soap is strong enough for this?Hand soap for auto technicians?
The common name for my job might be Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. It's actually a lot more complex. I also work on my own trucks, cars and motorcycles. I have found one thing that works well for me. Better than the stuff they sell to garages like Go-Jo, Fast Orange, etc.

GOOP is the brand name. It's a waterless / with water hand cleaner you can find at places that carry the others. Only $1.97 at Wal-Mart.

I put it on my DRY dirty hands. When rubbed, it actually dissolves and mixes with the grease and oil. Rinse with warm water. I hardly ever have to use a brush. It contains lanolin, which is a natural skin softener.

Try it. If he doesn't like it, you're only out two bucks.

If he does, you're happy.Hand soap for auto technicians?
i've had good results from that dry crap that you rub off, but usually i just use dish soap with a brush, regular soap will do if you skin is strong enough to scrub hard, the skin on mu knuckles can't take it, it just splits and bleeds then you really cant clean it.

that dry stuff i mentioned is used by pouring some on you hands (its about the same consistancy as dish soap) rub it into your greasy hands and it absorbs the oil and flakes off your skin.
I worked as a mechanic for over 8 years an never found any product that would take everything off. Once it's absorbed into your skin there's not a lot you can do. You're dealing with so many things - oil, grease, antifreeze, brake fluid etc. The best I found was Fast Orange and a scrub brush. Tell him he might try using mechanics gloves if he can stand to wear them. After I quit working on cars it was probably 2 to 3 months before all the grime came off. It's just something you have to live with.
Strange as it may seem I use a cheap hair shampoo for greasy hair. The secret is in how it is used, I put it on my hands dry and use a scrub brush that is designed to wash potatoes and then turn on the water and continue to use the bush to get the grease out from under my finger nails.
Try a good laundry detergent to remove oil and grease stains on the hands. There was an abrasive soap in a can with some petroleum based cleaner that existed long ago. I haven't found anything except Lava Soap and the laundry detergent .

Can you use hand soap or bodywash for your face?

yes you canCan you use hand soap or bodywash for your face?
why would u do that? Can you use hand soap or bodywash for your face?
Only if you want to start growing fingers out of your nostrils. Be careful and follow the product labeling.
You can use any kind of soap on your face. But depepnding on you and your skin type it may make it more oily, or more dry. But if you are just looking to wash your face and freshen up, then any soap will do. For a daily wash I recommend Noxzema. It's the best.
Yes, as long as the soap you are useing has the right Ph balance. you really don't want to dry out you face with a harse soap like pumis.
Yep, your face is just skin very much like the rest of your body, it is just more exposed to the harmful environment. Bodywash and handsoaps are fine, but specific facial washes designed for your skin type can be more beneficial. Anyways to answer the question, yes you can use handsoap or bodywash. bodywash might be a better choice, handsoaps are mainly for sanitizing and don't provide the many essential nutrients your face needs.
depends on your skin type. Some types soaps can be too alkaline for delicate skin so i'd say stick to face wash.

    eg. Boots botanics
Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. Get some oil-free face wash--or oil free acne face wash if you have acne.
The Original Dove soap is the best!
I believe it is better to use a cream, as soap and body wash will take the oils out of your skin. Still, if you do not have dry, sensitive skin, you may use these items. I like to use Vitamin E cream to cleanse my face and then, I put it on, again, after I have cleansed my face. If you DO have dry sensitive skin on your face, stay clear of any bar of soap or bathwash on your face, please.
no this could harm the soft skin of the face, hand soap or body wash are strong alkali .

What is the diference between grating melt and pour and grating Cold presssed soap fro hand milling?

    Hand Milled Soap

Hand milled soap is also known as rebatched soap. Hand made or cold processed soap base is grated and mixed with water usually over heat to liquefy the mixture. You can then add emollients, herbs, spices, essential oils, fragrance oils and coloring before pouring this soap into molds. The soap is then removed from the molds and placed on a rack or shelf to let the excess moisture evaporate and allow the bar of soap to harden.

    Handcrafted Soap

Handcrafted soap is used to refer to melt and pour soap making where the soap base is already made and it is handcrafted into individual bars or loaves of soap. The melt and pour soap base is also known as glycerin soap and is available in a clear base. This method also allows the hobbyist to create their own handcrafted soap by adding their favorite essential or fragrance oil as well as any herbs or spices. You can also use various methods to color the soap. The melt and pour soap base can be used to create layered soap, and imbedded soap where a shape or design of a different color is embedded within the glycerin soap.

    Handmade Soap

Handmade soap usually refers to soap that is made by combining a base (oils) with an alkali (sodium or potassium hydroxide) through a process known as saponification to create a salt (soap). This is usually done by hand, and not by an automated mechanical process. Handmade soap does not always mean that it's a natural soap.

    Lye Soap

Lye (sodium hydroxide) soap is just another term for handmade soap or natural soap. This is a term that has survived from the early days of soap making when commercial lye was first available and you no longer had to create your own solution using wood ashes. You cannot make bar soap without using lye as it is necessary to convert the base oils or fats into soap. When made correctly, there is no lye remaining in the finished soap.

    Melt and Pour Soap

Melt and pour soap making is a popular craft today as it allows the hobbyist create their own handcrafted soap without having to use any caustic chemicals or waiting for the finished soap to cure. See handcrafted soap above. What is the diference between grating melt and pour and grating Cold presssed soap fro hand milling?

How to make mild hand wash liquid soap at home ?

An all natural, very mild liquid soap for

    everyday use in your

    kitchen or bath.

    Ingredients: (Makes 2 - 8 oz bottles)

    All ingredients were measured.

2 cups of grated (cured) castile soap

    1 tablespoon of palm oil

    1 teaspoon vodka

    1/2 tablespoon glycerin (optional)

1/2 teaspoon lemon essential oil (or any EO)

1/2 teaspoon grapefruit essential oil (or any EO)

2 1/2-3 cups of spring or distilled water

    2 pump or foaming bottles

Over low heat and in a double-boiler pan, add grated

soap, palm oil, glycerin and water. Simmer until all the

soap has melted and is liquefied. Add vodka. Remove

from heat and let cool slightly before adding the

essential oils, mix well. Let cool completely before

pouring into bottle and check the consistency

(if too thick, add more spring water and stir).

Using a funnel, slowly pour liquid soap into chosen

bottle. Avoid any lumpy soap that may have not

melted from going into the funnel. Label and use.

Is it unsafe to use hand sanitizer instead of soap before eating?

At work, I do not have access to a clean sink to wash my hands, so is hand sanitizer an ok substitute or will I get sick or a disease? Is it unsafe to use hand sanitizer instead of soap before eating?
No its a good substitute. The point of hand sanitizer is not to replace soap and water but to be a great backup if you arent around soap (like yourself). Its basically just alcohol to kill off germs so you wont get sick from it as long as you let it dry before you start to eat.Is it unsafe to use hand sanitizer instead of soap before eating?
So long as your hands are not visibly dirty, hand sanitizer works well. Hand sanitizer is meant only for sanitizing though, so if you have grime on your hands, it is not going to do much to get beneath it. If you work at a factory or body shop, somewhere like this, it may be an issue. If your hands are not ';dirty'; but simply germy due to everyday life, then sanitizer works fine.
no but after so many uses u can become immune to the sanitizer.....washing ur hands is always better..
it will do in a pinch. Its always best to wash your hands, but if you cant that will be a decent alternative. Keep in mind that hand sanitizers kill bacteria, but not all germs. There is not much you can do...even with washing hands. Kudos to you for even bothering...many people dont
It is actually better than soap, it kills the germs.

u dont want to use any dish detergents...they are very sudsy..and will leave you itchy...try a good laundry detergent...i recommend woolite. What is the best soap to use to hand wash clothes?
There Are Alot Of Good Ones.Dial Is Good.-Any Antibactril Soap Is Good.
To hand wash you have a lot of options. Most laundry detergents control sudsing or the washer would overflow. I would use a liquid soap but my Mother had these special soap bars that she always used for hand washing.
    lava bar soap
Tide for clothes, Dawn for dishes
    All!
    Clothing... try Oxi-Clean... :)
I like Woolite. It cleans and rinses very easily.

    Good luck.
    Tide
Almost all of the laundry detergents will work pretty much the same... it depends on what you prefer. If you are handwashing colored clothes use the detergents that specialize in color-stay. Same goes for whites. I have used them all: Tide, All, Woolite, Wisk, etc. etc. I used dish washing soap once, and didn't like it. As for bar soaps, I've never tried that. I like the Dryel system too... I also prefer the liquid detergents over the other stuff, but if you have a spot on your clothes that is particularly difficult, but not quite a stain I suggest you use the grain-detergent and rub it into the spot, or use a regular stain remover. Good Luck!
    sunlight mild bath soap
Woolite is my favorite. I sometimes use regular shampoo if I am travelling.

What kills more germs - washing your hands with soap or hand sanitizers?

they do the same job----sanitizers are just substitutes for soap coz u cant just carry soap and water every where u go!....sanitizera r lot more convenient to use!

but whenever possible and viable u sud always wash ur hands wid soapWhat kills more germs - washing your hands with soap or hand sanitizers?
A good antibacterial soap is good to wash your hands with. You need to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 30 seconds to be effective. Also hand sanitizers are really good, but you need to use enough on your hands so that it takes at least 15 seconds to dry as you rub your hands. In the hospital where I work there are different kinds of hand sanitizers throughout, but there are always times that you need to wash your hands with soap and water, They are before eating, after using the bathroom and when your hands are visibly soiled. You also need to wash with soap and water when exposed to certain infectious diseases. What kills more germs - washing your hands with soap or hand sanitizers?
Well, I have been taught to use hand sanitizer, and only use soap and water when your hands are visibly dirty.

You would have to use an antibacterial soap, and lather for about 10-15 seconds.

The hand sanitizer does tend to dry out your skin, causing tiny breaks in your skin, which makes you MORE susceptible to infection.

I tend to prefer hand sanitizer, myself.
Nothing can beat soap and water! :)

Hand sanitizers are only supposed to be there if soap and water aren't available. Like in hospitals, they used it because it saves everyone washing their hands all the time because they can't exactly have sinks everywhere but when they have to do an operation or something they ALWAYS use soap and water because its the best! :) Hope i helped! x

It is safe to use hand sanitizer instead of washing your hands. It is actually better to use the sanitizer because people tend to not wash their hands properly (30 seconds, hot water, ect.).Is it safe to use hand sanitizer instead of soap and water after going to the bathroom?
It is safe, however studies have shown that wasing your hands with regular soap and water have shown to prevent more colds.

While the alcohol will kill the bacteria, it may not remove the virus particles.

no! no! no! do you think germs evaporate when the solution dries up. be safe and wash your hands.
    Sure, it's safe.

Trust me, you'd be disturbed at how many people don't wash or anything after using the toilet. If such behavior causes disease the way most of us have been brought up to believe, there would be a lot more illness.
    I think is better
yes even though it is better to use soap its kills moore germs but hand sanitizer saves time ;)
Yes but it will dry out your hands if you use it too frequently.
    actually its better.
    Yes it is safe ....
its safe but im not sure if its safer
you know its good to use it from time to time ,but not all the time ,you do need to wash your hand sometimes because if we use something all the time the bacteria will be immune to it, its better to use it only when you in a hurry

Does washing your hand very clean with soap before using the keyboard can wipe out the letters on the keys?

Is it true that almost everyday when you wash your hand VERY CLEAN with soap and after that you touch the keyboards, or mouse or anything that has letters on it can wipe the letters out and also the smells will also be gone. Is it ture?Does washing your hand very clean with soap before using the keyboard can wipe out the letters on the keys?
If you wear the letters off the keys it's time to shut the computer down and go outside in search of a life.Does washing your hand very clean with soap before using the keyboard can wipe out the letters on the keys?
No that would be because your hands are dirty and oils, fats or other chemicals on them could dissolve the lettering on the keys

soap is not acidic, it's very neutral

it also could be you just have a cheapo keyboard that isn't very well made lol
You can't be for real asking a question like this. The number one way to keep from spreading germs is wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.

If you're worried about the letters buy new keyboard. They don't cost that much.
I always wash my hands, and my letters are staying this time around. I also limit the amount of food eaten while sitting here.

It's good if you are in a jam or whatever, but don't make it daily it doesn't have the necessary moisturizers for your skin.Is it okay 4 me to use hand soap as a facial wash? i did it yesterday an was wondering?
i guess i havent herd about it
it makes your skin turn red for a while.
I use it as a facial wash occasionally, however I have heard it can cause unwanted spots on your face.
It should be fine. I use hand soap to wash my face now after using so many different facial wash, and it works great. Best of luck!
It's fine. Soap is soap, the rest is just marketing.
it is ok but might dry you skin out depending on the soap
i beleive so but sometimes handsoap has a drying effect and you may want to use a moisurizer on your face afterwards
i suppose it will do the job but hand cleaners have harsher chemicals and would maybe leave your face dry, if not right away then after awhile... make sure u moisturize after.
Sure it is okay but if you have facial soap

I would use it most the time as it is kinder

to your skin, where hand soap works

harder to keep germs away (and our hands

is where most germs are as they touch so

    many more items).
yeah just dont get it in your eyes

no it's meant for hands and may have alcohol for antibacterial that might break out your face; especially if you have sensitive skin
don't do it again as it damages the skin gradually
You're fine. It's just that some of the hand soaps will dry out your skin. :)
    oh my god.
We buy the Palmolive body wash and matching hand soap liquid and guess what, they are exactly the same formula, in different packaging.

    No problem there.
Yes and no. I have 5 sisters and they all say that the soap will make your face appear clean but that it does not get all of the foundation out of your pores (if you wear make-up). It won't hurt you by any means, they just would use body wash with a scrunchy daily and least once, if not twice, a week would would use a facial mask.

  • Is using dish wash soap effective in hand washing panties?

I heard that dish wash soap is all you need, but what is your opinion? I'm hand washing my panties now because I am using public laundry and I don't want my underwear in the machine. So, how should I effectively hand wash my panties? Is using dish wash soap effective in hand washing panties?
it should be ok unless if you stain your panties badly. Is using dish wash soap effective in hand washing panties?
I keep a bottle of cheap shampoo for washing my panties/bras.

I use it for scrubbing the sink/tub, too.

Dishwashing liquid would work, too. Just be sure it's plain dishwashing liquid ( no bleach ). Both dishwashing liquid and shampoo are great grease cutters and there are always body oils on your underwear. So it's a great idea! Plug up the basin, start running in the water, add a couple of drops of shampoo or dishwashing liquid and let it suds up. I usually soak my stuff for a few mins then rinse in cool water. I hang dry all of my underwear. It lasts longer because the elastic doesn't get worn out like it will in the dryer.

PS--add a capful of ammonia to the water for super cleaning your underwear.
Not advisable, it will fade your colors. Heloise recommended it as a bleach replacement. Try shampoo and a tablespoon or two of baking soda. Vinegar can work for you too.
I would use a gentle cleaner like a free n clear detergent All makes one so does purex an tide or u could just use a little of your regular detergent that u wash everything else with

Can I use 'softsoap' hand washing soap to clean pieces (or in general the entire cage) in a budgie cage?

Or is that not safe for them? Can I use 'softsoap' hand washing soap to clean pieces (or in general the entire cage) in a budgie cage?
You can use dish soap or hand soap to clean the cage, toys, dishes etc. It will not harm the bird as long as the items are fully rinsed off.

Dishes: Food and water dishes should be washed in hot, soapy water, and dried thoroughly. Do not clean the dishes in areas where food is prepared. To provide more cleaning power, some people wash them in the dishwasher or use a disinfectant. Be sure no trace of soap or disinfectant remains on the dishes. The food dishes need to be absolutely dry before adding food, since damp seed or pellets can quickly mold. To avoid waste, fill the dishes with only the amount the bird will eat until the dishes are cleaned again.

A good alternative is to have two or more sets of dishes, so while one set is being cleaned, the other set can be used in the cage. Stainless steel or high impact plastic dishes are recommended since they clean easily and can withstand repeated washings, hot water, and disinfectants.

If you use a water bottle, use a bottlebrush to clean it thoroughly. Again, having two or more bottles available often makes cleanup easier. Check the bottle to make sure the ball is loose and works properly.

Accessories: If you have a birdbath in the cage, it should be removed, washed in hot soapy water and/or disinfectant, rinsed very well, and refilled with fresh water.

Any accumulations of droppings on perches or toys should be removed.

Remove any seeds or loose droppings from the cage. Scrub the cage with hot soapy water. Can I use 'softsoap' hand washing soap to clean pieces (or in general the entire cage) in a budgie cage?
no no no don't ever use sopas. Just get a clean rag and wipe it down with steamy water. Soaps can kill us.
I don't suggest useing products as human soap, because they have germ killing things that are powerful to germs, and depending on how good your budgies immune system is, that'll depend. If you are looking for something that will help get the built-up of things off, try useing water and poop off cleaner, it works very well.
You need to use hot water and then it is ok. Just be sure it is rinsed very very well.
As long as you rinse it well, I don't think it will do any harm.

I use an old toothbrush and shampoo or soapfree bodywash.
I wouldn't recommend it,however for the cage I found a site that recommends using 1 part vinegar to 10 parts water. An excellent place to ask these sorts of questions is called tailfeathers which deals with birds and I have found it realy helpful.
I don't recommend using soap of any kind to clean your cages. For my budgies and my cockateils I use a sink full of hot water to soak the perches in, then i use a scrub brush (that i don't use for anything else) to clean off the debris with. I then put my parts in the dish drainer to dry. I wipe out their cage with a clean cloth using only hot water also. This is the safest way... I learned the hard way. I accidentally lost one of my budgies when i was a new bird owner by washing their feeding dishes with mild dish soap. I hope this helps you.
I would tend to stay away from hand soaps or spray cleaners. Both can have nasty chemicals in them that may upset the birds. I would actually use Dawn dishwashing soap (SPECIFICLY Dawn, no others) not straight, but mixed with a little water.

The reason I would use that is I know for a fact that it causes the least problems when used on birds. Dawn has been used for de-oiling bird species after an oil spill for over 20 years now, and has proven safe to use.
I suggest you use a mild dishwashing liquid - I know that's safe. and rinse well.
i use water vinigar and a bit of bicarb. i just put it in a spray bottle and use it that way. but when the whole cage needs to be cleaned use hot water instead of cold.

the spray is good for cleaning little accidents around the house.

anti-histamine medications, such as BENADRYL (will make you feel drowsy) or CLARITIN

Histamine is what causes the puffiness after you are exposed to an allergic substance

In the future, also consider buying an EPINEPHRINE injector at the pharmacy. If you develop a very serious reaction to any allergic substance and it causes you're breathing to become difficult, then give yourself one dose of EPINEPHRINE and then go to the ER

How to make liquid hand soap using liquid castile soap?

wanting to make my own liquid hand soap..

Does anyone know of a recipe. I have castile liquid soap and heaps of essential oils, just wanted to get an idea on how to make some...How to make liquid hand soap using liquid castile soap?
Well, the liquid castile IS liquid hand soap, so you are most of the way there. If you want to add essential oils to scent it, you basically just them in. You want probably in the area of 0.5% essential oil.

Be aware that the EO might make your soap cloudy. To combat that you can mix your EO with an equal amount of polysorbate 20 or 60 (if you have some). You can also stir maybe a couple of teaspoons of rubbing alcohol into your soap - that sometimes helps (don't use too much or your soap won't lather any more).

  • Are dead cats used for hand soap?

A while ago i heard that people use dead cats for hand soap, idk how but yea,and since then i have been trying to find out if it is true or not.I seriously would like to know and no,this is not a joke..i really want to know.ThanksAre dead cats used for hand soap?
Completely untrue. Are dead cats used for hand soap?
No, dead cats are not used for hand soaps. The FDA would not approve of using any dead animal for health/beauty products.

I make my own homemade soaps and have never heard of cats being used, not even in past history of soap making. Tallow (beef), lard (pork), emu, deer, elk, bear, etc. fats and oils from animals and birds are used in making soaps, but not cat or dog.
Not in the context that you put it. Animal bones are used as a basis of some soaps after the bones being treated and added to the soap to give it texture. Animal bones (not just cats) are used for many things.
    ummm no
no that sick were did you ever hear something like that.
No cats and dogs are not used for any type of hand soaps. But company's do use them and othe helpless animals to test their products on before it is sold to the public. also if you ever have a pet die on you or you have to pet them to sleep. please do one of ther following , have them cremated or take them home to Barrie in your yard. Why do this you might ask. well let me tell you why. all animals that have died or been found dead on the road,in shelters that do not get adopted and need to be put to death because of over population are sold to animal food company's to be ground up and put back into the pet food that they eat. yes animals are eating their family members. if you have a chance to look at the back of any animal food can or bag and it it states animal byproducts on it. You are feeding your pets diseased and dead ground up dogs, cats, mice, rats etc.....

sorry to grouse you out but it is fact.

I had my cat put to sleep this past Monday, bless his soul. We had to decide if we wanted his ashes or not, and I asked the vet oncologist what happens to the ashes if we don't want them. She said then our cat will be cremated together with all the other cats that die that day, then I asked where will the ashes be buried and she said she didn't know, and then she told me what someone who works at the cremation place told her, that some shampoo and soap places buy the ashes to use in their products. Since I look forward to seeing my kitty in his new God-given eternal body someday, it was gross to hear this but it didn't affect my decision.
That's down right disgusting. And I highly doubt it's true.
thats just a sick thought...i hope not

Hand soap that's not toxic to pet fish?

When I vacuum the gravel in my fish tank, or if I have to rearrange the aquarium ornaments, I have to put my hand inside the water. Before I do that, I use regular soap to wash my hands, and I make sure I get all the soap off of the skin, but I still worry that there still will be some soap residue that will harm the fish in the tank. Are there any soaps out there that are relatively safe for underwater creatures? If so, I would like to know the name of the soap, and where I can get them, please.Hand soap that's not toxic to pet fish?
Really, the best way to prevent getting toxic soaps into the tank would be to simply not use them just before putting your hands in it-- just rinse them well with warm tap water, and use soap after you're done in the tank.Hand soap that's not toxic to pet fish?
the least harmful soaps are the unscented ones, but as long as you can't smell soap on your hands before putting them in, you're good. also, it's recommended that you wear rubber gloves before handling the stuff in your fish tank.
I just make sure there is absolutely NO residue on my hands when I work in the tanks, and it hasn't been a problem.
I always wash my hands with dawn dish washing detergent

and rince well and I am always i.e. dailey sticking my hands in the water with my fish and haven't harmed them yet

  • Is there a pump hand soap that ISN'T antibacterial?

I don't want to contribute to superbugs. Is there a pump hand soap that ISN'T antibacterial?
I bought a pump at the local Wal-Mart and then went to the health food store and bought Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap to fill the pump. It is purely natural containing nothing but plant based oils, and it can be used for everything, from brushing your teeth to doing your laundry. It's also pretty cheap and can be diluted to stretch it out. I also bought a little container that I carry around with me so I don't have to use crappy public restroom soap.Is there a pump hand soap that ISN'T antibacterial?
    Soap is ALL ';antibacterial';!

Is there any difference between shampoo, body wash, and liquid hand soap, or is it all just marketing?

No, it is not all just marketing. Shampoo is formulated to clean your hair so it is more gentle than soaps, body wash for your skin, and liquid hand soap is often just antibacterial for your hands. Body wash tends to be more gentle on your skin then liquid hand soap because liquid hand soap is stronger, since your hands tend to get dirtier. Shampoo can be used as body wash, but body wash should not be used in your hair because it will leave behind a greasy residue. hope this helps! Is there any difference between shampoo, body wash, and liquid hand soap, or is it all just marketing?
there is a big difference. the PH levels are all different. in shampoo they are lower-so they wont damage your hair. in body wash they are only slightly higher, but usually have moisturizers in them which th PH could vary. liquid hand soap has the highest PH level (because it is supposed to kill bacteria)

we did a test on all this stuff in beauty school, i used to think the same thing, but i was surprised to actually see the major differences. depending on what shampoo, body wash, and hand soap....the PH levels all vary to a point but it did show that there is a major difference between all three soaps, and washes. Is there any difference between shampoo, body wash, and liquid hand soap, or is it all just marketing?
yea u cant really use shampoo to scrub ur face but the ingredients is too harsh
Of course! Shampoo is designed to clean you hair and wash the grease out. A lot of shampoos also add volume or strengthen your hair.

Body wash is designed to moisturize your body.

Liquid hand soap is made to kill the bacteria living on your hands and keep them fresh and clean.
shampoo if made for your hair.

body wash is soap for your body. but in gel like form.

liquid hand soap is normally in a pump and is for hand washing sorta like in public restrooms.

there all different ina way. but a bar of soap does the same thing as both body wach and liquid hand soap..
The different types of soap are meant for different types of skin.

I got a new book the other day. It has a recipe to make lipgloss. Okay here it is. By the way , the bits in brackets are my own.

    1. Put a tablespoon of petroleum jelly (vaseline) in a microwaveable container. Heat it gently for half a minute to soften in.

    2. Place a teaspoon of hot water into a bowl. Add in some raspberry or strawberry-flavoured powdered frink mix (Nesquik milshake mix!) , a tiny at a time , stirring constantly , until no more of the mix dissolves in the water.

    3. Add the coloured water to the petroleum jelly one drop at a time , until you get the colour you want (pink).

    4. Pour your mixture into a small , clean pot (an empty lip gloss tub?) and allow it to cool.

I have acnee on my forehead, even know i wash my face with hand soap every night and morning.?

how can i get rid of my zits?I have acnee on my forehead, even know i wash my face with hand soap every night and morning.?
washin your face too much can irritate it too so limit your self plus it would depend on the type of soap your using it might be to harsh or not strong enough.

plus you cant just wash your face and expect acne to magically disappear. youll need an on the spot treatment like from neutrogena or clearasil so when you see a pimple a bout to prop up you can throw a blotch on it and that will help.I have acnee on my forehead, even know i wash my face with hand soap every night and morning.?
You're going to have to keep washing your face and buy some acne lotion. It's best to use the lotion on your face throughout the day, meaning every hour or so apply it. You don't want to do this for too long, though, because your skin is going to dry out. So, after the first day, space the use out between two hours, three, so on. Your zits should start to go away.

    Hope I've helped!

EDIT: Remember, everyone gets zits. Breakouts happen to everyone and there's not a real CURE to completely get rid of them. This, helps, however, as well as avoiding greasy foods and touching your face.
    For starters;

Don`t use any kind of soap for your face but dove.

Its very sensitive soap made for faces. Only wash your face with Dove soap when you take a shower (which you should do at least every single day)

Step 2- Go find a good acne wash. (for example, proactive.)

Use your acne wash every night.

Don`t use it more then twice a day, because then your face will get dry.

~ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS %26amp; KEEP THEM AWAY FROM YOUR FACE!!

More importantly when you go to sleep at night tie back your hair and bangs with a pony tail holder and bobby pins. So that the oils in your hair don't get on your face.

P.S. Whenever you feel like you have been sweating a lot/ or whenever you get back from a athletic event that makes you sweat take a shower so you dont get your pores clogged.

Hope I helped you! My daughter had the same problem!
I had the same problem... Do you wear your hair in your face? if you do, it might be the oil from your hair going into your skin... that was my problem. at night i wear my bangs up and wash my face ONLY with dove soap, i don't use anything else and my face is perfectly clear now!
don't use soap to wash your face it is bad especially on sensitive skin. get some face wash and use it daily i use clean and clear daily face wash and clean and clear moisturizer my skin has cleared up great ever since i started using that.
well for one, stop using handsoap on your face.

that's probably irritating it and making you break out even more.

go to the store and buy an acne facial wash, or a cream for acne.

and use THAT every night and morning.
Quinoderm is the best cream iv used n iv always suffered with spots its cheap to it smells and stings a bit but at least it works
youre gonna have to buy face wash: clearisil ultra, proactiv, neutrogena acne treatment

    hope this helps =]
try proactiv or another acne cream.
    dont use hand soap.

    use facewash.

Which soap kills more bacteria: liquid hand soap or bar soap?

Neither. The action of washing your hands with soap and water serves to wash away the bacteria from your hands regardless of the type of soap you use. The same bacteria will be on your bar of soap as will be on the bottle of liquid soap - meaning that you have to touch one or the other to get to the soap so it would be a personal preference. Anti-bacterial soap is still soap. It only serves to kill the bacteria that you are sending down the drain when you rinse your hands and lowers your resistance to bacteria, much the same effect as those who take antibiotics for an extended period of time.Which soap kills more bacteria: liquid hand soap or bar soap?
personaly....bar soap. antibactiral soap isn't really a good thing. it could kill the good infection killing bacteria on your hands. i recomend dial soap. it kills some bacteria but not a lot. hot water is the keyWhich soap kills more bacteria: liquid hand soap or bar soap?
    liquid hand soap is better....

coz the normal bar soap is made up of large amount of potash-OH which is used to harden the bar and also it will take much time for the bar soap to lather ...

    i go for bar soap.....
bar soap just keeps bacteria on it, after handwashing. I would use liquid because it's in a pump, and there is no cross contamination.
Liquid hand soap due to the fact that germs will have less chances to multiply in the soap dish and/or the soap itself.
washing your hands well with warm soapy water for using friction kills more bacteria than worrying about a specific type of soap.
Liquid! i love liquid, but just my opinion :)

In a fast-paced world of uncertainty and harmful health threats lurking in wait of a new recipent to take hold of; one can never be too careful when it comes to personal hygeine. It's a known fact that hand soaps has the potential to spread germs rather than kill them completely. Unlike the anti-bacterial liquid soaps that are more convenient to use and more effective at killing the germs and preventing the spread of germs.

  • Should i wash my bays cloth with baby soap by hand or use baby detergent in washing machine ? which is good?

i heard that i should not use baby detergent washing my baby cloth , instead of that i should use baby soap for wash by hand to avoid other skin desease upto six month . is that true ?Should i wash my bays cloth with baby soap by hand or use baby detergent in washing machine ? which is good?
Detergent can be irritating. In either case it's *very* important to be certain the soap or detergent is rinsed out completely. If you can't be confident of rinsing completely by hand, I'd machine wash.

Unrelated to the baby's health, is that hot-water washing will often ';set'; stains that washing in cold or cool water by hand will remove. The cold or cool water doesn't have the same sanitizing effect.

So . . . I figure the ideal is to rinse by hand in cool water to remove stains and then machine-wash in warm or hot for sanitization and thorough rinsing.Should i wash my bays cloth with baby soap by hand or use baby detergent in washing machine ? which is good?
The best detergent for baby's clothes is one with no perfumes or dyes. There are quite a few brands out there to choose from. All Free and Clear is the one I used. I also used a perfume free fabric softener. You can find them at any grocery or drug store. If your baby has allergies, it is best to ask the pediatrician what to use but I found these both to be safe. Good luck!
Well you heard wrong, you can use Baby shampoo to wash your baby clothes either in the washing machine or by hand, baby shampoo does a great wash it works like woolite, it is strong enough to get clothes clean but yet gentle enough and will not cause any skin rashes on your baby, I even use this on my delicate clothes I even use it to clean my car inside and out and it washes and cleans very well, your clothes will be fresh and clean and soft. And guess what you don't have to pay those high prices at the grocery store or drug store for baby shampoo you can get it at a 99c store or one dollar store for a buck so you will save lots of money while trying to keep your baby's clothes clean. Good Luck !

Hand sanitizer, which is usually at least 65% alcohol, kills 99% of germs. The alcohol instantly saps the bacteria of water, so they're unable to survive in that environment. Hand soap can vary depending on its contents and how thoroughly you wash your hands. Mostly, it just acts as a lubricant to get things off your skin (dirt, dead skin, etc) and cuts grease because it's made with a base chemical. How many germs does a normal bar of soap kill compared to hand sanitizer?
Normal soap thats not antibacterial soap doesnt even kill germs, it just makes them slide off. This can be better than antibacterial soap however because bacteria can adapt and survive it (unless all the alcohol does the killing). Hand sanitizer would be better with the alcohol
Bar soap doesn't get rid of germs, they are loaded with germs! So sanitizer kills way more then te bar soap. The reason why bar soap is loaded with germs is because say someone is going to wash their hands, right nd their hands are loaded with harmful germs and they touch the soap and then put it back then the next person goes to wash their hands and their coating their hands in the harmful germs the other person had on their hands and then adventually the person will get sick. GO SANITIZER! Hope this helped ^^!

Why does bar hand soap crack or get dirty ridges in it?

it cracks when it gets dry, %26amp; the ridges are dirty cuz some of the oil %26amp; ect. from your hands gets trapped in there. Its really grose, but doesn't effect how well it works. Why does bar hand soap crack or get dirty ridges in it?
cause its not used often. Why does bar hand soap crack or get dirty ridges in it?
    It is drying out.
It goes like that when its not used

So you now know that regulars in that bar never wash there hands

    YUK
Buy Dove brand, and you won't find this happening.
maybe because a pub is a very used place which many people happen to use the bathroom after a pint or two and with the bar and other things to look after the landlady/lord may not always remeber to change the soap!!!
because of lack of use and it is drying out
Soap dries out fairly quickly (well the cheap bars do) and the reason there are dirty ridges is, that the user is fairly lax in the use of the soap and does not lather up properly.

A posh resort's hand soap had small bits of brown material embedded in it. What was it & what's the purpose?

The material was similar to tiny bits of wood. Is it just a gimmick, or is their some authentic benefit from these bits.A posh resort's hand soap had small bits of brown material embedded in it. What was it %26amp; what's the purpose?
probably smashed walnut shells. its used as a pumice to remove dead skin as it's more abrasiveA posh resort's hand soap had small bits of brown material embedded in it. What was it %26amp; what's the purpose?
well it could be lemon grass or it could be oats, it could be a lot of things, sometimes they are beneficial, sometimes just for looks.
It depends on what those bits actually are. They could be there as a ';sloughing'; agent or just for their escential oils.

If they are Camomile stems, they're there to sooth your skin.

If they're Sandle Wood bits, they're there for scent.

If they're bits of loofah they're there to help exfoliate.

It all depends on what those ';bits'; are.
I suppose it's some form of herb that was used to scent the soap. But then again the entire cake of soap could be made out of sawdust b/c they can get it for free at the kiddie's playground.
It could've been for exfoliation. Some manufacturers put it in to slosh your hands of dead skin. I suggest you go to the website of the maker and ask for ingredients.

Nothing you eat with is supposed to taste like soap no matter how much was used during the washing step.. Someone may have forgotten the ';supposed to rinse after washing'; step. After you hand wash silverware, how much soap do you put in? Is it supposed to taste like soap??
Just a little squirt per sinkful of water %26amp; rinse, rinse, rinse w/clean water.
If you are using a two galen sink or tub, don't use more than a tea spoon of liquid soap. Then reins the dishes in a equal size tub with no soap just water. The soap residue can and will give you the runs. Sins your dishes tasted like soap let me leave with this Thoth. Happy pooping.
you know those little dessert spoons that come with almost any flatware/silverware set? You can fill up one of those spoons with soap and then wash the silverware---and then rinse it well with clear hot water...
