Does Dove Hand Soap kill bugs?

My husband insists we throw away all anti-bacterial handwash as he has read of all the evil chemicals in them. I'm all for being natural but am concerned at his new choice for he family as we have a young toddler still in nappies. Does Dove actually kill bacteria? I get the feeling it is more for dirt and grime than actually bacteria.Does Dove Hand Soap kill bugs?
Acutally ANY SOAP will kill bacteria better than Anti-bacterial soap!!!

Its been proven that all soaps are better than anti-bacterial soap because you dont develope immunities with the anti-bacterial soaps..(actually, the ';bugs'; dont develope them if you dont use the anti-bacterial soap)...If you ';do';, then you risk having ';super bugs'; as they are referred to now, because they start to develope resistance to the chemicals in the anti-bacterial soaps and that makes it harder to treat any diseases that may come your way...

I tossed out my Anti-bacterial soaps years ago!

I wish you well..

JesseDoes Dove Hand Soap kill bugs?
Nope, Dove doesn't kill bugs/bacteria....

If you're wanting to go 'natural' I would suggest something like tea tree oil maybe?
No - dove is not antibacterial. Dettox and Carex are.
No, it doesn't
All soap is antibacterial it's called a emulsifier which leaves the bacterias membrane exposed to things like dehydration and the such. Some soaps of coarse have other additives mixed into the blend such as disinfectants.
OH my. Don't throw out your anti-bacterial soap. Its doubtful any child could really wash his/her hands enough to get all the germs off!

Wash with warm water and soap everyday before meals, after bathroom use and other ';messy'; times.

Really worried? Ask your Doctor.
its not antibacterial
Dove soap is for people who want soft skin, because it is a cream bar and not proper soap. Tell your husband that there are people who test the antibacterial soap before they sell it to the public. He should also stop worrying about stupid little things like this, because we already live in a nanny state. I do not think it is as harm full as the alcohol in the pubs, the second hand smoke or the CO2 emmisions he creates with his own car.
No it doesnt, there is a great soap available in chemists called Hibiscrub, it kills everything, they use it in hospitals and doctor surgeries, it is a skin disenfectant they tell you to wash your hair with it and to shower with it before operations, so it has to be good, and its very cheap too! the dispensor pump doesnt come with it but your chemist will get you one.
