How do you get a half a gallon of hand soap out of your carpet?

And here's some friendly advice: Don't ever leave a 1 year old unattended for 30 seconds while you grab a hand towel out of the hall closet. He found the gallon of hand soap in the closet and poured it out onto the carpeting in the hallway. Water and scrubbing make it foam up.How do you get a half a gallon of hand soap out of your carpet?
aw lol been there

get a steam cleaner...keep adding water and sucking it out.

at least the baby TECHNICALLY wasn't making messes. How do you get a half a gallon of hand soap out of your carpet?
water and a wet vac. More water, more vacuming, more water more vacuming, etc. A little fabric softener will calm down the foaming - add about a tablespoon to the bucket of the wet vac, or you can mix some with water and pour it on the soapy spot, then vacume it up and repeat.
Wow, I've never heard that one before. I feel for you, really. Hahaha. Anyway, I think using a shampooer may work. Just don't put any carpet shampoo into the machine and use the shampooer as an extracter instead. It'll take a while, but at least that area of the carpet will be clean, right?

Before you use the machine, though, try to get any excess out with dry rags, etc. That might help reduce the amount of foaming.
Rent a steam cleaner and just use straight water in it. It will take several times of wetting the carpet and sucking the soapy water up with the vacuum. Eventually, it will all come out.
I'd say you should probably go to a Kroger's and rent a Steam Vac. Just load that thing up with some water and keep vacuuming that spot until it doesn't foam up anymore. Probably shouldn't put any more soap in it though. ^_^
ooh. That's bad. I would suggest renting a carpet cleaner because there is no way you'll ever get that out by hand.
Burn the house down.
